Project Engineer - Land Development / Site Design

HFC is seeking a licensed professional engineer in the State of Iowa to work in our Land Development / Site Design division. The ideal candidate will possess, at minimum, a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and five (5) or more years of experience with land development/site design-related experience. The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; EaglePoint experience is a plus. A valid Iowa driver’s license is required.

This position requires an individual who possesses strong communication skills (with co-workers, clients, contractors, reporting agencies, general public), who is highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, and works well in a team environment. This individual must demonstrate strong leadership skills, excel at multitasking and be able to meet deadlines.

This position will be responsible for all aspects of planning, cost estimating, design and plan preparation for residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects. This position will likely require the individual to research code issues and work with City, State, and County officials. Duties also include civil design for street, sewer, water and storm drain improvement plans, site grading, establishment of utilities and roadways requirements.

Project Engineer - Water / Wastewater

HFC is seeking a licensed professional engineer in the State of Iowa to work in our Water / Wastewater division. The ideal candidate will possess, at minimum, a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and five (5) or more years of experience with water/wastewater related experience. The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; EaglePoint experience is a plus. A valid Iowa driver’s license is required.

This position requires an individual who possesses strong communication skills (with co-workers, clients, contractors, reporting agencies, general public), who is highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, and works well in a team environment. This individual must demonstrate strong leadership skills, excel at multitasking and be able to meet deadlines.

In this position, you will be working on all aspects of water/wastewater projects including planning, cost estimating, design, plan preparation, and construction administration duties such as shop drawing review and onsite observation.

Engineer / Land Surveyor Technician

HFC is seeking an engineer / land surveyor technician to support its engineering and land surveying teams. The ideal candidate will possess two (2) or more years of experience. It is preferred that this individual have an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or computer drafting, or a related field. The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; EaglePoint experience is a plus. Familiarity with Trimble GPS and Robotics is expected. A valid Iowa driver’s license is required.

This position requires an individual who possesses strong communication skills, who is highly self-motivated and works well in a team environment. This individual must also excel at multitasking and be able to meet deadlines. This position will be responsible for assisting in plan preparation, drafting and design changes, and evaluation of field conditions. Duties may also include onsite surveying and topography utilizing Trimble GPS and Robotic equipment.

Construction Observation Administrator

HFC is seeking an onsite construction observation administrator to support its engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess two (2) or more years of experience in the construction field. It is preferred that this individual have an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology but not mandatory. A working knowledge of the Iowa SUDAS specifications would be beneficial as well. Have Iowa DOT course certifications or the ability to obtain said certifications. The candidate must have knowledge in Microsoft Office Word and Excel. A valid
Iowa driver’s license is required.

This position requires an individual who possesses strong communication skills, who is highly self-motivated and works well in a team environment. This individual must also excel at multitasking and be able to meet deadlines.

This position will be responsible for onsite management of all types of engineering projects to ensure construction project adheres to plans and specifications. These duties include observing, interpreting construction plans, testing, maintaining detailed notes of all aspect of the project, and communicating directly with construction and engineering personnel. Duties may also include review of shop drawings, preparation of as-construction drawings, preparation of close-out documentation and preparation of audit materials.
